Patriotic League of Uganda a non partisan, non donominational and non secterian Civic Organisation has proven to have captured the eye of every Ugandan hoping for a peaceful and smooth transition of powers of the President after Mzee Museveni
As a Civic Organisation, PLU has sticked to its founding principles of promoting patriotism among Ugandans, encouraging Ugandans to participate in wealth creation through embracing government programs, fighting corruption and all its forms, encouraging transparency, honesty and accountability of government resources, above all uniting all Ugandans irrespective of our political, religious, social and economic backgrounds. PLU has revamped the lost hope in majority of young people of Uganda.
Being in power for 38 years, NRM required ideological reshape to meet generational demands for the sustainability of the revolutionary agande that took Mzee Museveni to the bush. PLU is the force that has reshaped the ideology of the revolutiinaries by incorporating in the generational demands while addressing the current challenges in government that had made young people run to reactionary opposition.
Like a saying, “failing to plan is planning to fail,” PLU is a right timing action for the sustainability of the revolutionary achievements.
In the recent past, PLU has organized itself into a formal entity where it acquired legal rights with URSB and later went on to establish formal structures.
With the majority of Ugandans, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba became the National Chairman for the Civic organisation with Chairman Nuwagira Micheal Kaguta aka Toyota taking on as National Vice Chairman, Hon Daudi Kabanda as General Sec, Hon Balaam Barugahara as National Vice Chairman for western region, Hon Lillian Aber for Northen region, Hon Cedric Babu for Kampala Metropolitan, Hon Micheal Katungi as Director external Affairs, Hon Micheal Mawanda as director Mobilization and disciplinary, Hon Andrew Mwenda as Director communications and Counsel Karugire Edwin as director legal affairs all constituiting “Central Committee” of PLU.
The Civic organisation has not only stopped at establishing the Central Committee but has gone ahead to appoint its leadership at subregional and district levels.
As the National Chairman “Uganda’s 10th President” Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is busy on National security and international relations, the National Vice Chairman, Chairman Toyota Micheal Kaguta is enganging Ugandans to the generational agenda of embracing PLU principles and supporting our next President Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
All indicators give Ugandans hopes in Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as our 10th President because since last two years, Gen has been very engaged in international relations, meeting different heads of states, Ambassadors and military delegations from
different nations, enough evidence to prove that he is preparing well the future of Uganda
The petitioning of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for a public university in Bunyoro by Bunyoro leaders and stakeholders on 29th June during PLU thanksgiving for appointment of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as CDF is a testimony of the trust and confidence Ugandans have in him.
Very many petitions to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba continue to come including a request for him to become our President in 2026, as Chairman Toyota continues to engange Ugandans to the founding principles of PLU.
