Gen Muhoozi Discuss Military Cooperation With Ethiopia Chief of General Staff, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba met with Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, the Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF).

Accompanied by military officers from their respective armies, the two Generals discussed bilateral military issues.

Present at the meeting, which was held at the Defence Intelligence and Security headquarters, were the Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS) Major General James Birungi, Commander of the UPDF Air Force Lieutenant General Charles Okidi, and Commander of the Field Artillery Division Brigadier General Daniel Kakono, among others.

This meeting follows General Kainerugaba’s April meeting with the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Etsegenet Bezabih, during which he extended an official invitation to Field Marshal Berhanu Jula.

General Kainerugaba, who also serves as the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in 2022 and has consistently emphasised the importance of Uganda and Ethiopia in promoting stability within East Africa and the continent at large.
