Appointment Committee at Parliament Vets New Ministers

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, this Monday presiding over the vetting of new ministers at Parliament Buildings in Kampala with Hon Daudi Kabanda

President Museveni last week appointed Balaam Barugahara as State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Lilian Aber as Minister of State for Relief and Disaster Preparedness, and Dr Kenneth Omona  as the State Minister for Northern Uganda Affairs.

Others include Wilson Mbadi as Minister of State for Trade, Sironko Woman MP Florence Wamala Wambozi as State Minister for Karamoja Affairs and Phiona Nyamutoro as Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development

The constitution requires that certain personnel appointments made by the President must be approved by Parliament. The purpose of the provision is to ensure that a person seeking to serve in a certain position has the necessary education, work experience, competence, temperament, vision and integrity.

Hon Daudi Kabanda congratulates the newly appointed Ministers and wish them all the best.

The ministers were happy to have successfully completed their vettings and promised to give their best.
